Vickie Diane Wendel, daughter of Raymond Edward and Lorraine Elizabeth (Strickland) Gearhart, was born December 5, 1942, in Lenora, Kansas, and passed away at the Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 75.

They made their home in Lenora before moving to Dows, Iowa, where she operated a restaurant. They later returned to Kansas, to live in the Almena community. Vickie was the librarian at the Almena Library for many years.

Vickie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She had many interests including bowling, reading, crossword puzzles and refinishing furniture. Her greatest joy in life was her family and spending quality time with them.
